Galvanic corrision betwen brass and galvanized steel

Galvanic corrision betwen brass and galvanized steel

(OP)
G’day,

Can anyone tell me if it is practically acceptable to use brass and galvanized steel fittings in contact with each other, or will this lead to excessive galvanic corrosion? The fluid passing through the fittings is water and it is not a particularly corrosive atmosphere (coal prep plant)
Thanks

RE: Galvanic corrision betwen brass and galvanized steel

You can use a di-electric fitting to connect the two materials.  They are pretty common and you should be able to find them at most supply houses.
