Inherit template

Inherit template

(OP)
Hi,
at work we use a template that came from a very old UG template.
Sketch color as part color are very horrible.
This are only a stupid example, but there are lot more.
Sometime I use NX7 outside TC in native mode and the template is better in all the preferences.
We are in 50 designer so I can decide for all to adopt my setting, but after start the new part, I would like inherit from a standard template.
It's possible ?

I tried creating a new palette with template and visualization template, but with the visualization template on double click, colors are not as the master.
I think that the problem is that our color palette is so different from the standard palette.
Do you think there is a solution ?

Thank you...

Using NX 7.0.1.7 MP3 and TC8.1

RE: Inherit template

It should be possible using the visalization template, but it can be more work setting the visualization template than fixing a new Part template...
 1) Visualization template.:
Run NX native, create a new part, eventually set visual properties up as desired. RMB in some navigator such as the History palette - New Palette. Open the new palette - RMB in the white space - New Entry - Visualization template - OK. In the teamcenter session open the template part ( or any part) open the new palette - click the new visualization template.  I do doubt that this will fix old parts , i assume that curves etc will have strange colors.

2) import the native part into Teamcenter as a new revision of the Template part. Will not fix any old parts, but all new should be ok.

Hi Toost,
as you can read in my post, this is what I do, but different color palette create a strange result.

The second solution produce a template modification for all designer and I don't want this.

Anyway, thank you.

Thank you...
