Hi,
I'm not able to create a tube from a sketch, a bridge curve and an helix curve.
Where I wrong ?

Thank you...

Using NX 7.0.1.7 MP3 and TC8.1

RE: Tube feature

I have no problem whatsoever creating a Tube feature using NX 7.0 utilizing any of those types of curve, as seen in the attached example.

Hi John,
I'm talking about my case.
In my case the tube must sweep along connected curves that are created by sketch, bridge and helix.
In the next version I don't have problem, but in NX7 yes.
Solutions ?

Thank you...

John,
trim is the only solution ?
Different setting in the bridge feature can avoid create a trim feature and a new bridge feature ?

Why next NX version can do tube feature without problem ?
Is it changed something in the tube feature ?

Thank you...

RE: Tube feature

Why are you surprised that NX 7.5 works better than does NX 7.0?  The next version is always enhanced compared to previous versions.  And if you want to use NX the way NX 7.5 works, then stop using NX 7.0 and move to the current release!

Hi John,
we are in maintenance, but remember that in big company move from a release to the next, it's a big time consuming.
We have 50 designer so we have to update for every client 50 NX and 50 TC en all workstation that have TC as web browser.
We have to update TC server also.
Again, we have 20000 parts that need to be converted with the refile tool.
For parts is little simple, but for assembly we need lot of time.
When we switch from NX3 to NX7 we have spent two months.
So we have decide to switch from NX7 to NX8 when will be released.

Thank you...

RE: Tube feature

There is something strange in this case, I exported the curves using Step203 into NX6028 and created a new bridge curve.( deleted the old one)  No trimming of the helix, then selected the curves using the "stop at intersection" . It creates the tube without any notice.
The feature tolerance was 0.02540, single segment.

Hi Toost,
you have right.
Today I deleted the bridge curve and re-created and works fine.

Thank you...
