About using Cross-Correlation for flow metering...

(OP)
Hey guys...

I have 2 questions about using CC for flow metering:

- How can you be sure that an arbitrary cross section of a flow will produce an identical signal at the two sensors? (In the first place, have I grasped the concept of CC correctly? :D)

- Is it possible to use this method for multiphase flow metering? I mean if the phases are flowing at different speeds, won't the problem I mentioned in my first question occur?

Thanks!
