DIN 4150 & Support of Vibrating Machines

DIN 4150 & Support of Vibrating Machines

DIN 4150 & Support of Vibrating Machines

(OP)
I have to design a frame supporting vibrating screen equipment.  The equipment load is as follows:
Total dead & live load (product) =7,200 lbs.
Dynamic horizontal force = 150 lbs.
Dynamic vertical force = 210 lbs
Operating speed = 1175 RPM

There are 4 pieces of machinery to support on the steel framing.

The manufacturer of the equipment is from Africa.  They state "the natural frequency of the supporting steelwork due to the vibration caused by dynamic alternating loads should be calculated.  The permissible frequency chosen should conform to the recommendations of DIN 4150."  I purchased 4150-01 & 4150-03.

I purchased DIN 4150 and found it to be of little help.  The publication deals primarily with vibrations transferred through soil from one source to another point.  There is a short section on machine rooms which may apply.  What confuses me about DIN 4150 is it references everything in terms of velocities.  I'm not sure how they went from rotational frequency to velocity.  DIN 4150-03 has a section for long-term vibration and Table 3 on page 6 giving guideline values for velocity.  I'm not sure how to apply this table.

Any help on interpreting DIN 4150 as it applies to vibrating equipment support would be appreciated very much.

RE: DIN 4150 & Support of Vibrating Machines

I'm not familiar with the standard.  I assume the intent is along the lines of your supporting structure should not have modes near 19.6 Hz (1175 RPM/60).  Look up "force transmissibility".
