Charger system for embedded system

Charger system for embedded system

Charger system for embedded system

(OP)
Hi there,
I am currently working with a system that we are going to make portable for the first time. Hence, are we in need of a battery and a battery charging system. Can you give advise on an IC for charging, a battery and charger?
Requirements: Lithium Ion battery (4.2 V), about 1500 mAh or more, USB connector is preferable.

Thanks in advance,
Mr_Embedded

RE: Charger system for embedded system

Considering the plethora of USB-powered battery charging support chips out there, I'm surprised you haven't stumbled across a chip worth considering within 30 seconds of Googling.

It would be easy if I knew what I was looking for, but its a freakin jungle out there, so many products. Guidance is always appretiated.

Thanks!

RE: Charger system for embedded system

Google "battery charger ic lithium ion" and have a ball... just about any of the listed chips will prove useful.  Throw in a USB chip for auto-enumeration and power and you're done.
