Dimension a slot in sketch mode

I'd like to dimension the entire length of a slot. When I try and move the dimension line to the arcs I get either a yellow or orange square but I'm not able to attach the dimension. What do the yellow and orange squares mean? How do I dimension the slot the way I want to dimension it?

RE: Dimension a slot in sketch mode

Hold down the Shift key when selecting the quadrant points.

With a drawing open, see also Tools > Options > Document Properties > DimXpert options.

Thanks. I see where it can also be controlled in the Property Manager under "Arc Condition". I would still like to know what the yellow and orange squares are when I try and drag the dimension to the max quadrant points.

RE: Dimension a slot in sketch mode

Are they not the quadrant points?

Can you post an image showing the squares?

RE: Dimension a slot in sketch mode

Property Manager is the way to go it will allow you to switch the dimension scheme at any point and is much simpler than trying to reattach with the cursor. If you selected both arcs and manually added the dimension you can change arc condition to nearest center or farthest to change positioning.
