Need help about MP35N

Need help about MP35N

Need help about MP35N

(OP)
Experts,

Want to use MP35N for one component and the component needs to comply with NACE0175 and API 6A, and also satify structural analysis viewpoint. The material Spec I am thinking is:

min YS: 230 ksi
min TS: 240 ksi
min elongation: 15%
min RoA: 20%
min CVN at zero degree C: 20 ft-lb
max HRC: 51

Material will be cold-reduced and then 4 h aging at 704C(1300F). Is this possible? I am personally a bit concerned with elongation. Right now min YS is from my stress analysis, fixed; others are from those NACE and API standards, fixed also. I do have several more heat treatment options after cold-reducing as follow:
----------------------
Aging period, min                  Temperature
        4                          732C (1350F)
        6                          774C (1425F)
        4                          788C (1450F)
        2                          802C (1475F)
        1                          816C (1500F)

Can anyone recommend a heat treatment condition which will satify requirement?

Thanks a bunch

Sorry one typo:

the above min CVN value should be 20 J (15 ft-lb).

RE: Need help about MP35N

Salmon, from experience, you may be specing something that no one in the world can produce ....at the very least it could have a very, very long lead time (+1 year). This forum may help prvide guidance, but you really need to talk to a mill and have them on-board when trying to acheive these requirements.

RE: Need help about MP35N

Since this alloy is supplied by Carpenter, talk to them directly.

RE: Need help about MP35N

Actually, lots of people supply MP35N. As described Salmon is looking for cold reduced/cold drawn material. I know that Latrobe and Allvac have supplied in the past.
