cylindrical coordinates - radial data extraction
cylindrical coordinates - radial data extraction
(OP)
I'd like to know how to extract the radial stresses once a cylindrical coordinate system has been created .
Do S11,S22,S33 correspond to the stresses in the R,THETA and Z directions respectively ?

when i try to probe the CPRESS values at a few nodes I end up with 'NoValue ' being displayed . Does this mean contact hasn't been established ? I read elsewhere that if no contact actually exists abaqus displays zero .
Any idea on what this 'NoValue' could mean ?

Now , I have another problem in terms of obtaining a bunch of radial stress values. I've got 2 cylinders A(outer) and B(inner) in contact. I'm trying to plot the radial stress as a function of distance (radius). I tried creating a radial path through the cylinders A and B , but somehow couldn't get it right . Should I mesh this really really fine so that I see enough number of nodes along the thickness for me to manually probe the values ? Is there a simpler way to do it so that I don't have to deal with a huge mesh ?
Thanks
