There's a lot of very strong engineering concepts in it, I'll give them that. My first thought was to wonder whether they included the cost of terrace earthwork into their $50/sf figure.

Concepts are often shown to gauge customer reaction to new and radical designs which may or may not have a chance of being produced.
Concepts never go into production directly; in modern times all would have to undergo many changes before the design is finalized for the sake of practicality and cost.

My second thought was, how do you repair the roof membrane if it should start to leak?
They make it sound like no heating or insulation would be needed. Ground temperature in my neck of the woods is ~50F. That's a bit chilly for a home.
The clerestory probably would provide enough daylight, but I think I'd want some eye-level windows to look out.
