NYLON 66 bushing

NYLON 66 bushing

(OP)
Hello:

I am designing a bushing for small engines.  On one side of the bushing is engine oil.  Bushing prevents oil leaking around the shaft.  Temperature of oil goes to 100 deg C MAXIMUM.  This temperature is reached everytime engine is used and when it is stopped, temperature returns to normal ambient temperature.
My question is that what will be the effect of this repeated heating and cooling of oil on Nylon 66.  If busing expands to a ceratain level and does not return to the original dimensions then there will be a leak.
I am using Nylon 66 with 20% Glass Fiber.  I can not change the material, though I can change % of glass fiber.
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

RE: NYLON 66 bushing

The best fillers for dimensional stability are glass sphere and mineral filled materials. I am not certain that nylon is the right material to use because it tends to swell in Oil.
