Reducing pressure of liquid in constant temperature

Reducing pressure of liquid in constant temperature

Reducing pressure of liquid in constant temperature

(OP)
Hi

We have an ammonia vessel @ 150 bar and -23 C connected to another vessel @ 18 bar and -23 C. level of first vessel controlled by liquid output and pressure of second vessel controlled by manipulating output gas flow rate of this vessel.
Ammonia input flow rate of second vessel is 42117 kg/h and output gas flow rate is only 20 kg/h (second vessel has another liquid outgoing stream).
How could possible to reduce pressure of liquid in constant temperature?

Thanks

Thanks

RE: Reducing pressure of liquid in constant temperature

As long as the pressure is above the liquid vapor pressure, there is no problem.

thanks Compositepro! How to reduce this pressure? is this pressure reduced along the LIC control valve?

RE: Reducing pressure of liquid in constant temperature

Find the boiling point of ammonia at 18 bar (g?) If the boiling point is equal to -23ºC then thats the temperature you will have in your vessel! If ist NOT - then 1 of 3 things will happen:

1) You have a different temperature (T_boil)
2) You dont have any gas phase in the 2 vessel (T boil> -23ºC
3) You don have a liquid phase (T boil < -23ºC)

Hard to say which without checking.

BTW: Your questions posted so far looks a lot like those of a student doing his homework...

Best regrads
