First Article Inspection

(OP)
Have required FAI to AS9102 from a supplier.  Have required that all components that go into the top level assembly have an FAI completed.  Supplier says he is not sure if he can guarantee that all components used to build up the assembly would be the actual FAI parts but that the ones used would be representative of the lot of those parts.  Is this acceptable?

RE: First Article Inspection

If you are the customer I think it's your call.

RE: First Article Inspection

Short answer is NO, unless Receiving QC using an agressive sampling plan, finds that the FAI parts are identical to the Production parts.

RE: First Article Inspection

I agree with Duwe6 i dont think that the FAI on the assembly would be representative of the components within that assembly unless they to were FAI components.
