Choosing a plane side for sketching

Choosing a plane side for sketching

Choosing a plane side for sketching

(OP)
Is it possible with Inventor 2011 to choose which side of a plane to sketch on. The software seems to orbit to a random side when i click on a plane to sketch on. I can't seem to find an option to manually choose a plane face. Am i expecting to much control?

RE: Choosing a plane side for sketching

The planes have a front side and a backside distinguished by light and dark color. On user created workplanes you can right click and Flip Normal to flip the front and back.
But this doesn't sound like what you are really talking about when you refer to "orbit when I click to sketch".
Simply click the arrows above the view cube to set the orientation how you want it.
