Acronyms for motor control
Acronyms for motor control
(OP)
Hi,
In our project the acronyms used on P&ID for motor controls are:
XGM
XSR: run status
XCR: start stop command
XA: common trouble alarm
XA: L/R status
I found these acronyms in "instrumentation handbook" but there is no explanation for them. Can anyone please explain them for me?
Thanks

RE: Acronyms for motor control
I guess:
- XGM repesent the motor
- The rest is self explanatory.
- "L/R status" means Locked Rotor. It comes probably from the motor protection relay. Basically it means that your motor did not reach full speed in the allowed time. It's a protection.
Hope it helps you a bit.

If there is motor control referenced on it, it is typically only as it relates to an instrumentation / SCADA or DCS system.
