Control Broken Views

Control Broken Views

(OP)
Im trying to find if there is some way of controlling broken views other than by the "Broken View" command. If i go to properties of a broken view in part navigator and click the Information button there is a "Broken View Regions" section. Is there any way of changing the location of the broken views by changing the Location XC, YC, ZC values?

RE: Control Broken Views

What version of NX are you running?

When you say "change the location of the broken views", are you talking about moving individual view sections, such as adding additional separation between two 'sections' of the view, or are you talking about moving the entire set of views as if it were one view?

NX 6

Actually, i need to rephrase my question.

I would like to automate broken view creation and possitioning based on how many times a part is used in a array in the assembly. If a part occurs three times i need four broken views, if it occurs four times i need five broken views.

Arrays are controlled from spreadsheet so if i could somehow incorporate broken view creation and possitioning in same spreadsheet it would be great.

RE: Control Broken Views

Whatever scheme you came up with, it would require custom programming as nothing like this is supported in NX as is.  And before I would waste any time (or money) on something like this you should be aware that we have completely re-implemented the broken view function in the next version of NX and while none of the changes that we've made would come close to supporting the behavior you're describing, if you WERE to invest in some sort of NX Open-based custom application to do this NOW, it would likely have to be completely redone in the near future.

Ok thank you!

One more question. Does this apply to "Detail view" also?

Same limitation, but nothing really new on the horizon.
