Remove Wall?

Remove Wall?

Remove Wall?

(OP)
Hi,

I'm trying to show internal details of features & would like to show a partial view in which I would remove a portion of the outer wall.

How can this be done in WF 4.0?  Is there a edit line feature entity somewhere that I can select specific edges to display & not to display?

Thanks

RE: Remove Wall?

You can erase edges from a view, but I don't think this does what you want.  In the past I've wanted to do what you are asking about, and what I end up doing is changing the Style of the part to phantom line transparent.  For instance if you have a cabinet and you want to show a view that allows you to still see the cabinet, but also the components inside when you change the Cabinet style to phantom line transparent, it will allow you to see the components inside the cabinet.  The cabinet will appear transparent and all edges of the cabinet will be in the phantom line font.  I believe you would find this in your view manager (I use WF5.0 but I'm sure it's in 4.0 also).  I don't think there is a way to remove just a wall feature like you want.

Hi Giberto,

Thanks for your feedback.  After speaking with others, it doesn't appear this doable either.  That's too bad because there are features within NX that does this quite well.

However, for the project, I need to continue to use ProE.

Thanks again...
