Hi,
Right now, we use RTEXT to gather page number, filename, date, etc. and put it into our CAD drawings.
The problem is that some of our customers do not have ACAD Express. As a result, the RTEXT only appears as rectangular placeholders to them.

I'm trying to find another way to accomplish this using commands/tools compatible with R14 and up.
Does anyone have any ideas?

You could attach blocks with attributes, then with a custom macro or lisp fill in the information that is desired.
