Soil viscous boundaries

Soil viscous boundaries

Soil viscous boundaries

(OP)
Hi everybody!

I am doing a dynamic soil-structure interaction analysis, but i have some problems implementing the soil viscous boundaries (Lysmer model) through COMBIN14 elements: I have to attach to each node on the boundaries three dashpots in the three directions. The problem is that the soil model is 3D (solid45 elements) and really huge (720m long bridge) and the viscous coefficient for each node depends also from the influence area of the node itself. Since i have thousands of nodes and the mesh is not regular (soil non-horizontally stratified), is there a simpler way to implement the viscous boundaries?

Any help would be really appreciate, thank you very much!
