Thyristor Control Panel

What exactly is a thyristor control panel?  Where it is used? and what are its advantages?

Thanks

RE: Thyristor Control Panel

Thyristor controls are for chopping AC current feeding loads.  It allows you to turn on the power for fractions of a power line cycle.  This is often needed for fine control in heating applications.

The "control panel" is just a format of that type of controller.  It's frequent enough that that's now the terminology for it, instead of, "I need a thyristor based power control system mounted on a panel."

Thank you Keith for your valuable information.

Is there any website where we can get more technical information on the thyristor control panels?
