Gas Wells/Reservoir Halite Issues

Gas Wells/Reservoir Halite Issues

Gas Wells/Reservoir Halite Issues

I am currently looking into how I can tackle the halite issues we are experiencing with our wells. A lot of them have salt build up just before the SSSV.

We've been trying water washing for a while and that used to work. Now it seems like it is having no effect. We operate at relatively low pressures and would like to see if anyone here has experience or advice on how to tackle this issue.

RE: Gas Wells/Reservoir Halite Issues

You need to know your the salt composition to know how to solve it. What changed?

we've put cameras in the well and we know the salt is fully soluble in water.

I wasn't here from the start of the issue but from what I've gathered nothing's changed but for the build up gradaully sits towards the lower end of the well.

The only thing i know that's changed really is the reservoir flow rate and pressure. i.e. lower pressure and low enough velocity to allow for the build up.
