Showing Datum plane offset dimensions

Showing Datum plane offset dimensions

Showing Datum plane offset dimensions

(OP)
I have a set of 4 coaxial holes in my part. The axis of these holes were created at the intersection of two datum planes. One of the datum planes was offset from another datum plane. Therefore, the only way to dimension the hole is to show the offset dimension for the datum plane on my drawing. However, Pro won't let me show this dimension. Even if I do a show all. Is there any way to show this dimension on my drawing or do I have to use a created dimension.

Thanks,
Ken Johnson

RE: Showing Datum plane offset dimensions

Strange what are you saying. Try SHOW DIMENSIONS BY VIEW (or SHOW ALL).

RE: Showing Datum plane offset dimensions

You may want to just create a new dimension in the drawing instead of pulling the dimension out of the part file.  This way you can dimension the center of the hole to any reference.

Maybe the drawing views or even the part has that datum plane on a layer. Check your layer status.

When it comes to showing difficult features (e.g cosmetic threads), I will do a show -> feature view, then select by menu.  Use the feature I.D. number available from the model tree.  That usually works.
