suspended concrete cut out repair

suspended concrete cut out repair

(OP)
i have a problem where i have had to cut out a square 750x750 from a 600mm suspended deck for piling purposes at a sea berth. i was wondering what was the best solution as i have just started working in this area and am a bit inexperienced. have a 100mm pre cast panel placed at the bottom of the cut out, this can be used as formwork and then rebar with existing deck and then pour in situ to fill the cut out. option 2 get a pre cast item to fit the cut out?
any help would be much appreciated.

RE: suspended concrete cut out repair

We do this all the time.  We are a marine engineering company and frequently cut thru decks for replacement piling.

I'm not sure I understand the details of your situation, but we usually restore the slab reinforcing either by saving enough of the original bars that we can weld in new bars to the remaining stubs, or we drill and grout in dowels to restore the reinforcing.

Will the slab that you are cutting be supported by the pile or does the pile just pass through to support something above the slab?

the pile will have a steel headstock on top and then a 50mm grout pad to connect with the bottom of the deck. my problem is how to refill the concrete deck for structural integrity purposes. my team was initially tossing up those two options that i earlier said because we must re-fill the concrete cut out for structural integrity but if you have a different way of doing it thats better im more than willing to hear it cause we are stuck
