Staad Built up beam buckling analysis
Staad Built up beam buckling analysis
(OP)
I have a built up plate girder that I'm trying to model in staad to check for stability during erection. The beam has several different sections that are modeled and I'm trying to make sure staad is not modeling it pinned, or supported laterally, at those nodes. How do I do that?
Also, the buckling analysis says the loads are in the opposite direction to the loads that will cause buckling. What does that mean?
I'm sure I'm just doing something goofy, but staad people wont get back to me.
Thanks for the help. Staad help desk is not answering me at all.

RE: Staad Built up beam buckling analysis
As for the buckling thing, maybe your applied loads cause tension in the member???

Not sure if the STAAD / Bently support guys are going to be able to help you. If so, they are much more likely to monitor that list than one which is geared toward more generalized Structural topics.
