Models in Teamcenter 8.1 with NX 7.5

(OP)
Hello,

I am using Teamcenter to manage my data. I would like to add a part or model to an assembly as a reference component but I don't want to create an item to hold it. I know I can create a solid body in the assembly but I am looking for a better alternative.

Thanks

RE: Models in Teamcenter 8.1 with NX 7.5

Why the aversion to creating an item?

I want to use this to place customer parts in an assembly, I don't have a customer part #, I would rather not create an alternate part # system, It will not work to give it one of our part #s. I would like to be able to retrieve these "parts", IE have them in some sort of library, in TC or on a shared drive. These will not be revision controlled.

Can't you assign the reference document to the existing item?
