Effect of upstream component

(OP)
Hi there,

I am going to be carrying out an experiment that involves two safety relief valves and a three way dual shut off valve for an HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.

The experiment is going to be carried out using Compressed Air to simulate the flow of refrigerant vapours through the system.

The valves are connected to the three way dual shut off valve and then the compressed air is going to be let through. There is an image below of the three way valve that is going to be used.

The air is going to be discharged into the atmosphere once the safety valve goes off. My questions are:

1. Would there be a huge pressure drop due to the introduction of the three way dual shut off valve?
2. Would the geometry of the three way valve be responsible for this pressure drop?

Thanks
