Eigenvalue critical load

Eigenvalue critical load

Eigenvalue critical load

(OP)
I do apologise in advance if this is a stupid question.

I have designed a portal frame then used the analysis Buckle and the eigensolver Lanczos.

This has worked fine and i now have over a hundred eigenvalue results.

I've looked at the manual and this states that the critical load = the preload pattern + eigenvalue*perturbation load.

This however does clarify what eigenvalue i should use to determine the critical load.

As i said i'm probably missing the obvious but if you know the answer could you please humour me.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Think i'm on the right track now.

Cheers for the reply.
