Failure Modes of a Pressure Compensator?

Failure Modes of a Pressure Compensator?

Failure Modes of a Pressure Compensator?

(OP)
I'm planning to use an off the shelf pressure compensator to bring the pressure in an oil filled cavity 0.5 bar higher than the seawater pressure on the other side of seal.

Can anyone advise of the likely failure modes of such a spring based pressure compensator?

Cheers

james.

RE: Failure Modes of a Pressure Compensator?

Just a few obvious ones James

Fails to maintain required pressure, cavity pressure >0.5 bar
Fails to maintain required pressure, cavity pressure <0.5 bar

If its off the shelf do you really want to go to component level of the regulator - if so why not ask the manufacturer?

regards

John
