Reactor Design Maths

(OP)
Please could someone talk me through the steps used to determine the reactor residence time. I have forgotten a lot of this maths and need a reminder.

Thanks for your time. What maths areas do I need to look at to understand all of reaction engineering again?

Please see attached file.

RE: Reactor Design Maths

Plug Flow is easy
residence time = physical volume / flowing volume

Batch Reactor is easy
residence time = agitation time

You need math for Continuous Stirred Tank Reactors (CSTR).
To use the math, you need an assumed model of residence time distribution.

That's all from me

RE: Reactor Design Maths

Shut down your computer and get yourself a copy of Levenspiel's textbook.
