3D pdf in NX 7.5

3D pdf in NX 7.5

Dear Friends,

Saw a cool command in Solidworks, create a 3D pdf document and can be shared thru Acrobat Reader.

Is Siemens is also planning to offer such a thing in the next release? Or is there any other way to share the 3D models without revealing the details.

RE: 3D pdf in NX 7.5

It is ( was) Adobe that created / sold the 3Dpdf. I don't know If SolidWorks sold it as an add-on or not. Having the Acrobat "Distiller" of the correct version and license allows one to do the same w NX .
But, It seems Adobe has changed their plans .:

The 3D viewer market is sadly not simple nor clear. All CAD vendors are trying to push their own solutions and all are using their own file formats. The difference with pdf is that it is a defacto standard such that "all" computer users already has the viewer.
Siemens should make a deal with Adobe allowing JT data to be opened with the Acrobat Reader.
