two solid works questions

two solid works questions

two solid works questions

(OP)
Hi

I have large surface , how to divide it to component and how to add thickness to it

I have solid wworks 2010 premium

best regards

RE: two solid works questions

I'm not sure what you mean by divide component, but look in the help for Split Line.  To thicken the surface (depending on your geometry) go to Insert/ Boss/ Thicken.

RE: two solid works questions

Depending on what you are actually trying to do, you may have to thicken the surface first, then split.

RE: two solid works questions

If you have radi, that are smaller then the amount you want to thicken it will error. try a midplane thicken or opposite direction

i HAVE STL FILE i IMPORTED THAT CONTAINS THE SURFACE (consists of small triangles ) , I will try the other types of thickness

RE: two solid works questions

I doubt you will be able to do much of any use with an STL file.

RE: two solid works questions

STL Files << Worthless for anything but directly dumping to rapid protoyping machines.
