Roof load question

Roof load question

Roof load question

(OP)
Hello, i was hoping someone might be able to tell me if this roof(pictures below) would be able to hold a 2000-2500lb load. According to code, the steel frame should be able to hold about 7500lbs, but im more worried about the galvanized roofing getting crushed. The load would be spread out over 16 square feet, divided evenly over two steel beams on the frame, so that the steel would take most of the weight.

Any insights?

RE: Roof load question

Hire a licensed structural engineer to analyze this. Would you size an air handling unit for free?

RE: Roof load question

If I were to take a picture of a pump, could you tell me how much flow it could pump?

One cannot just look at 2 photos and say that a roof is okay. Sorry.

RE: Roof load question

No!
But most HVAC contractors will act like they can!

Yea, i figured it was a shot in the dark, but hoped maybe someone would recognize the material or design, anything like that.

Thanks anyway.

RE: Roof load question

Hire a structural engineer.

RE: Roof load question

Share the liability (and the wealth).  Hire a structural engineer.
