"Dell T1500" is the workstation right?
(OP)
I would like to buy a new workstation.
My choice is "Dell T1500.
The configuration is:
Xeon E3-1280
NVIDIA Quadro 2000
8GB ECC DDR3 memory
256GB Solid State Drive.
In your opinion is a good choice for NX7?
Thank you all.

I think that will be certified later.

Xeon E5620; Quad 2.40GHz,12M L3, 5.86GT/s, 3.33Ghz in turbo mode
8Gb or 12Gb ECC DDR3 memory
If NX works with TcEng, then a 1Tb SATA 3.0Gb/s primary HDD and a 250Gb SATA 3.oGb/s seconday drive in non-RAID configuration is ideal.
16X DVD +/- RW
26-inch monitor LCD (or two monitors. It's insane, but I run the CAD and ANSYS this way.)
2.5Gb nVidia Quadro 4000 or 5000 with Dual Monitor, 2DP & 1DVI

Besides, a dual or quad core allow you to run the heavy app in its own core and let the other core(s) run the OS, email word, etc.

But the point i was making is that the RAM has more influence on the performance than the amount of cores.
Also when working with Team Center the network connection is very important. We have a sister company in China (Shanghai) and corporate IT will move the server to Singapore we predict problems with latency but are talking to deaf mans ears.

Based on the turboboost I would prefer Xeon E3-1280. It is 50% faster than E5620.

1 core = 100%
2 core = 160%
4 core = 240%

I'm speccing the FX 600 graphics card instead of the 2000, but thats a tough call. If you have the cash, jump on the better one.

I have some 3-4 year old higher level precision workstations that were dogs. They were built more like servers than snappy workstations, I really have a bad taste in my mouth from them.
