(OP)
Hello Everyone,

I have a picture attached, which shows a tip is scratching a material.
http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=91d33f3d-4e5f-4859-b120-10402ad6032f&file=engtip.JPG

Now I want to find where is the maximum shear stress in front of the tip so that I can find in which area (not volume!!) in front of the tip has the maximum shear stresses.Could any one please help? I am new in abaqus. So I have a very limited knowledge about how to play with different options to get the desired result. Thanks everyone in advance, this site is helping me a lot.

RE: Find the area from the stress distribution

Go to result and report and find the maximum stress.
