Base plate Slot Size Limitation for Anchor Bolts question.

Base plate Slot Size Limitation for Anchor Bolts question.

Base plate Slot Size Limitation for Anchor Bolts question.

(OP)
I have a question on Base plate Slot Size Limitation for Anchor Bolts.

say for a 1" anchor bolt, AISC-13th, table 14-2 gives a maximum base plate hole diameter= 1 13/16". How about if it is a slot say phi-1.5" by 3", that in short direction it is within the 1 13/16" limitation, but in long direction it exceeds 1 13/16" limitation. Will this base plate slot allowed by Code?

Thanks.

RE: Base plate Slot Size Limitation for Anchor Bolts question.

Refer to AISC Design Guide 1.  Tolerances are given for hole diameters and modifications.

Thank you for your response. As I don't have AISC Design Guide 1 at hand, could you please attach a few related pages or formulas, or some ballpark values for those most common size anchor bolt such as 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" anchor bolt?

Thank you very much.

RE: Base plate Slot Size Limitation for Anchor Bolts question.

Sorry I am out of the office, actually on vacation.  The guide is available online at AISC website.

On vacation?  Did anybody here give connectengr permission to go on vacation?
