toupet tile slab

toupet tile slab

(OP)
I am trying to determine the capacity of an existing concrete floor slab constructed using toupet tile.  The existing drawings call for the joist to be spaced 13" apart.  Obviously, the width of the joist will then be determined by the width of the toupet tile forms.  Does anyone know how wide toupet tile forms are?

What is a toupet tile?  Do you mean taupe tile?

RE: toupet tile slab

I believe there are 8" and 6" units. The 8" are a full tile and the 6" is a 'bottom' where the concrete joist is. On a reinforcing project last year we 'discovered' a 14" spacing c-c. This sounds familiar. Have a close look from underneath if you can. Top surface probably has a 2" topping as part of the system. Hope we are on the same page and this helps.

RE: toupet tile slab

I might add that in my quick scan of them I didn't see anything no taupe tile.
