Question about UCS

Question about UCS

Question about UCS

(OP)
I still use ACAD 2004 and a drawing was sent to me for revisions.  Within model space, the UCS along with the drawing were rotated about 25 degrees, another word the entire model space seemed rotated, yet checking the UCS status, it was listed as the world position.

Going to the 3D views and picking the top view, the UCS went back to its true world position, however I could not replicate the rotated UCS and drawing without undoing.

So how did the original ACAD person managed to rotate to 25 degrees the UCS and the related drawing and the computer view this as the world position.

RE: Question about UCS

Maybe an April Fool's joke - but god only knows with AutoCad - I hate it.

But you got it fixed and things are GOOD!!!  Be Happy - don't worry!!

RE: Question about UCS

(OP)
No actually going to the 3D view did not fix it as the entire drawing along with text and dimensions were in a rotated position when the UCS was back to its true world position.  So I had to undo to be able to read and view the drawing as originally presented.

RE: Question about UCS

Check out the DVIEW command.  Particularly, the TWIST option.

RE: Question about UCS

In the 25 degree rotated view with WCS, type in the command PLAN, it will give you the WCS in a non-rotated view (normal. The reason it was in WCS & rotated is because UCSfollow is set to 0. If you type in the command UCSman you'll probably find a saved UCS set to the 25-rotated view.

RE: Question about UCS

(OP)
Several above suggestions were tried already to no avail.  However, what worked was to copy and paste the drawing and everything was the way it should be.  What may have happened, one of the ACAD files such as support was reprogramed just as you can program new linetypes with notepad.
