RE: True shading floor grid
Note that from the True Shading toolbar all you have control over is whether there's a Grid or not. However, if you toggle ON the 'True Shading Editor' then in the section of the dialog labeled 'Floor' you have some additional controls, such as define the 'plane' of the 'floor' (which is what the Grid represents), the offset distance, etc. Now the closes that you can come to 'editing' the appearance of the 'floor', or Grid, is to toggle ON the 'Inherit Model Grid Attributes' option which will allow you to adjust, using the normal 'Grid and Work Plane' dialog the spacing of the grid which when this option is toggled ON will be what controls the Grid spacing. Note that this only works with the Rectangular Grid options (Uniform and Non-Uniform). Also note despite the True Shading mode honoring the Modeling Grid settings (if that option is toggled ON) you can't edit the Modeling Grid while in the True Shading mode. You have to toggle it OFF, change the Grid spacing and then after accepting the changes by hitting OK, go back and toggle True Shading back ON to see that it's now honoring the spacing that you just changed in the Modeling Grid dialog.
Anyway, that's about the best that you can do, modify the Grid spacing via the Modeling Grid dialog.
