I would like to generate a toroidal coil similar to attached image.  Must have a rectangular profile as if coil wound on cylindrical sleeve rather than true toroid.

I did manage a round profile with a swept protrusion and helix, however I am stumped at generating rectangular shape.

Thanks beachcomber, that looks good. However I cant open files. Could be bs a version problem.  I am using ST1

Figured out problem with Xpressroute.  I don't have it.

It's done in ST2.
You should be able to get the construction from the jpeg, and the procedure is exactly the same with the sketches with the radial lines at the top and bottom then join the ends of the 'spokes' as required
You also need to produce a part with the cross-section of the wire in it. Only a sketch is needed, you don't actually have to have a solid.
