Nitrile Rubber Specification

Nitrile Rubber Specification

Nitrile Rubber Specification

(OP)
Hi

My name is James and I have a question about a material I have been asked to source.

I have been asked to find a Nitrile Rubber seal. The drawing states that the material should be

NBR on Dacron BS3222 BA60.

I know that Dacron is a brand name for a polyester filler, the problem I am having is in relation to the BS3222 part of the material, does anyone know what this stands for and if so can you shed some light on the spec.

I also think that the BA60 part is for the sure hardness of the material, is this correct?

Any help anyone can shed would be great,

Thanks for all your help in advance

James

Hi btrueblood

I have found referances to the BS standard however I cant find what the BS standard actually means.

I have seen Nitrile BS3222 before but I was hoping someone could shed some light on the content of BS3222

Thanks for your reply though

James

RE: Nitrile Rubber Specification

James,

You'll have to buy a copy of the standard from the British Standards Institute.  BA60 is the cured hardness of the compound.

RE: Nitrile Rubber Specification

What Graham said.  Though you could try calling the folks in the link I gave, and see if they can answer some questions, or (even better) quote your parts...
