Lost a function in AutoCAD2008 Electrical

Lost a function in AutoCAD2008 Electrical

(OP)
I'm running AutoCAD2008 on Windows XP and have loaded the latest
service packs, etc.

AutoCAD had been running fine until just a minute ago and now the "Open" command & icon do not work properly.  When I click on either the "Open" icon or do "File\Open" the window does not pop up showing all of the files so I can select which one to open.

Instead, at the bottom of the screen the command prompt says: "Enter the name of the drawing to open."

Any ideas on how to get the proper functionality back???

Thanks in advance for any help.

Set FILEDIA to "1".

This is probably the most asked question on AutoCAD forums. :)
