Knockout pot sizing - high viscosity liquid

Knockout pot sizing - high viscosity liquid

Knockout pot sizing - high viscosity liquid

(OP)
I am trying to size a knock-out pot for a vent line in my process; it is off of a viscosity index improver blend, so the mist, when it settles, is very viscous and sticky.  I am hesitant to use a mesh because of that; I am thinking an impingement plate and a couple of baffles inside of a small-ish vessel would work.  Can anyone point me to a good reference?  Thanks,

RE: Knockout pot sizing - high viscosity liquid

Oh yeah, a mesh pad is definately out!  Vane Impingement separators are generally purchased on a performance basis, and
sizes will vary somewhat from one manufacturer to another. Consequently, the exact size cannot be determined before selection of the manufacturer.  That said, the best reference is manufacturers of vane impingment separators.  Google vane impingment separators and you will get lots of hits.  Several manufacturers are on the first page.  The second best reference I know is online at:

http://books.google.com/books?id=tofS0idKHQEC&pg=PA157&lpg=PA157&;dq=vane+impingement+separators&source=bl&ots=eTF9JcZ-bV&sig=F1w7TK93LvfPK9gY6r6jYPLgMCY&hl=en#v=onepage&q=vane%20impingement%20separators&f=false

Good luck,
Latexman
