Run Time Error and Study-1 Failed

Run Time Error and Study-1 Failed

Run Time Error and Study-1 Failed

My (new) Machine:

Win 7
SW Office Premium 2010 x64 Edition
SP 4.0

I just installed Simulation last night to double check some heat-sink calculations I had done.

I had previously been using a different machine running SW 2009 and Cosmos without issue, so I figured this new machine would be a slam dunk and blazing fast.

Well, I loaded up my heatsink solid model, put in some simple thermal loads, and received a blazingly fast "Run Time Error".

Figuring maybe the model was a little complex or something, I made a test model of a simple beam. This also failed, but now the error is "Study-1: Failed" and that is all.

The parts appear to mesh fine, they just won't run.

I believe we are on a Network License here at the office, however I'm not sure.

Is it possible that we only have 1 seat of Simulation, and the other engineer is using it, thus I will be unable to run simulations?

Any insight would be helpful before I throw a temper tantrum!

Our IT guy set up the systems initially.

I used the Windows Control Panel, and clicked "change program" on SW. Then, I clicked the "change" checkbox. This allowed me to "change" it by adding Simulation. I tried to "download" the Simulation package, but I was informed that all necessary packages were already on our server, and the only option was to use the existing file location.

It appeared to install correctly thereafter.

So I figured I'd get a couple screen shots of the error messages.

I go to run Simulation again, and it will not allow me to do a thermal analysis. "Static" is the only option under "Type".

I tried a re-boot thinking maybe SW was freaking out, but no luck.
