new business

(OP)
Planing to start welding business very soon, stainless still high pressure piping components.
If you have an idea, please advice me how to quote jobs.
Is it weld/foot, per hour, or....
Any help would be apriciated, thanks in advance

RE: new business

Do you have a Power Piping stamp from ASME B31.1? If not, better get one.

You will need to have a Quality program along with qualified welding procedures and you will need to hire qualified welders.

What kind of welding equipment do you have in your shop?

Most quotes are on a per job basis, so you will need to determine the productivity rate of your welders, amount of consumables per job and necessary equipment to support the job.

RE: new business

You should quote high enough to make a profit, but not so high that your competitors get the job.

RE: new business

You might want to consider how you present yourself and your business.  You have four lines of text and at least four improperly spelled words, including your primary business line, along with punctuation errors.

Yes, people pay attention to the small stuff.  Particularly if they do not know you.

On the technical side, make sure that you or your employees have appropriate certifications and documentation for each welding process, position and procedure that you expect to encounter.

If you are in North America, I would suggest that you be familiar with and join the American Welding Society, the Canadian Welding Society or both.  The savings in publication costs will often pay for your membership.

Good luck.
