BS5500 1997 coded Vessel - to be used in USA - ASME Code Question

(OP)
I have a BS5500 coded pressure vessel (Filter Dryer), and a customer wants to use it in the USA (California).  Does the vessel have to be re-coded to the ASME standards and U-stamped, or is there some type of exception?

RE: BS5500 1997 coded Vessel - to be used in USA - ASME Code Question

I think yes but you should post your question again in the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Engineering Forum (Mechanical Engineers). There are some real experts who will for sure be able to answer that question.
