Question on Transformer Impedance

Question on Transformer Impedance

Question on Transformer Impedance

(OP)
All:

I have what may be a stupid question...  How do you calculate the percent impedance of three single phase transformers configured in a delta (i.e. pole-mount)?   How would it change if you used an open delta?   Each single phase transformer has a percent impedance of 1.9%.

Thanks for the Help!

Dave

RE: Question on Transformer Impedance

It will still remain 1.9% for the three transformer bank, as %Z is a per phase value. Not sure about the open delta though, but for all practical purposes I would use the same value, as you always need to plan on three transformers. There are no formula to calculate %Z, as %Z is determined by test. (Short circuit test).

May be someone who has looked into this may post more insight.
