Expression/model not behaving in parts/assembly (NX 7.5)

Expression/model not behaving in parts/assembly (NX 7.5)

Expression/model not behaving in parts/assembly (NX 7.5)

(OP)
Hello NX'ers

We are preparing to upgrade to NX7.5 I've been busy learning and creating some of my own models/assemblies in order to a) practice as I will be training our 400 users and b) use as examples of good modelling principals when training new starters who join our company.

The attached assembly is something I have created to try and demonstrate assembly constraints (if you spin the prop, the shafts all move) ans also how well thought out CAD models can easily be changed by editing simple expressions. The pitch of the propeller.prt can be changed (see the user defined expression) between 10 and 75 and also the prop_fin.prt has 4 user defined expression to allow me to modify the angles, skew, trim angle of the prop and drop length of the prop. If I edit all the expression in random order based on the values in the comments box, everything updates according to plan, however all of a sudden, I will get an "Internal Access Violation Error" or something similar which is not consistant and can happen at any time on any of the expression. This means that I have to close the assembly an open it again then it will work again for a short time. The assembly constraints also seem to screw up every now and again. This obviously isn't ideal when I'm trying to wax lyrical about how NX. Any pointers would be most welcome.

p.s. Please dont judge the engineering merrit of the model, I know it would never work on a boat, and we aren't likely to be fitting any props to our excavators any time soon. It's purely to demonstrate the power of a (supposedly) well thought out model/assembly. smile

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

RE: Expression/model not behaving in parts/assembly (NX 7.5)

You need to send this into GTAC as I get the same errors using the production version of NX 7.5.3.3 which will be released next week.  Also there are model update problems with the Endcap.
