How much would you need available to test the above transformer?

The site if fed from 630kVA 415 transfomer which is good for 800Amps. They have allowed for a 500A supply to this.

Any assistance is apprecaited.

Thanks,

RE: Testing of a 1MVA 400V to 11KV Step Up Transformer

What kind of tests would you like to perform?

If you are interested in Acceptance tests, most field test equipment can operate from single phase 115/230V 10 A supply.

You may require three phase power for fans, depending on design.

Multiply the rated KVA times the PU impedance to find the minimum  KVA to test available short circuit amps.

Thanks for the replies.

However, they want to use a 1MVA 400V to 11KV transformer from a 415V, 500A supply. The transformer will be then used for testing transformers. this is not enough power is it?
