How do you test regeneration of 1 MW? Does utility allow testing?

How do you test regeneration of 1 MW? Does utility allow testing?

(OP)
Our company is involved in developing a large flywheel for utility energy storage services. We are used to testing smaller 100kW DC units using facility load banks.  We are trying to learn how to test regenerative power at 1 MW at the AC level.

Can someone enlighten me as to what equipment or facilities are typically used for testing at high power levels.  Can I rent large AC load banks (on trailers perhaps).  Are there testing facilities for this purpose in the US that are off-grid?  Can we install our own facilities and do on-grid testing?

RE: How do you test regeneration of 1 MW? Does utility allow testing?

Yes load banks are available to rent in the 1MW range.  They are commonly used to test generators.
