Simple ... you may think....

(OP)
Hi all i usually post in the mech forum but i use autocad quite often.

Here's my problem; ive recently upgrade to windows 7, using the same copy of Autocad i used previously on XP. (2010 LT)

However since ive started with Windows 7, the function to control plotting centre and hidden lines in;

-Format
--Lineweight

within the tool box "display line weight" tick box this usually controls the plotting of centre or hidden lines.

however this time is not? ive changed all layers / scales / thickness but they still dont show as hatched / dotted lines when i plot.

anyone have an idea or am i missing something-

thanks.C

RE: Simple ... you may think....

Hmmm... Very interesting. As far as I'm aware, ACAD-2010, even -LT should do ok in -7. Possible need -7-Pro tho. I have made it a habit of controlling line attributes like Line-Weight through the ACAD.CTB file with Line-Types assigned by Laer or by entity to avoid problems with some of the other methods which in earlier versions displayed quirkiness as you've described. Still, I've heard they've eliminated these problems and should work ok by now. 1. Try reverting a drawing to -CTB use and see if you regain the control you're seeking, and 2. let's see what other input comes along here. I CONTINUE to struggle with the ADOBE PDF plotting stuff and I thought they had that solved at around 2009 or so (I'm using full 2011 here). Good luck and let us know how it goes!

thanks for the reply Cfee,

i will do as you advise and revert next week.

RE: Simple ... you may think....

You could try right clicking the Autocad.exe file and going into properties.  Go into compatibility mode and change to XP SP2 or one of those options.  Curious if that might help before you go reinstalling Windows.
